Starting a Heart t’ Heart Group is easy. Here is a quick overview of the things you will need:
1. A place to meet.
This can be a home or any public building you have access to. Suggestions for places to meet can be found here.
2. An official meeting format.
You can download the meeting formats here. There are three for the three different types of meetings. We suggest printing the formats on cardstock for durability. A sheet protector also helps. The format is read at each meeting and tells you exactly how the meeting is conducted, making the process very simple and straightforward. If you can read, you can lead a meeting.
3. Heart t’ Heart literature.
In our Heart t’ Heart meetings, we use only literature that has been approved by vote of the members at our Heart t’ Heart annual conferences. A new meeting most often begins by a book study of He Did Deliver Me From Bondage by Colleen C. Harrison (Hearthaven Publishing). You can find lists of other approved literature here.
4. A Group Registration form.
You can download the registration form here. Please register your meeting so we know about you and can support your meeting. If you like, we can list the meeting on our website so others can find it. We can also send you information about our annual meetings.
5. Pamphlets.
Heart t’ Heat has several pamphlets to help newcomers get started. Pamphlets also help priesthood leaders understand the purpose of Heart t’ Heart so they will feel comfortable referring people to the meetings.
We suggest having extra copies of the pamphlets on-hand at all meetings. You may download printable .pdf files of all Heart t’ Heart pamphlets here.
Two pamphlets in particular that you should read before convening your first meeting are: How to Start a Heart t’ Heart Group and What to Expect at a Heart t’ Heart Meeting.
