"He Did Deliver Me From Bondage" was recommended by a friend. I have tobacco and alcohol issues from years past. I joined the church 12 years ago and have "white knuckled" it for several years. I fell off the wagon in May, 2009 and have consumed alcohol about 7 to 9 times since.
This book is an absolute MIRACLE for me. I've gained a much stronger testimony of Christ. I had an experience the other night that served as absolute confirmation that focusing on Christ and his healing powers...and learning to apply the Atonement is the answer to each and every weakness we face in this mortal life.
I started Step 1 and am using the capturing process as outlined in the book. What a great tool! Looking forward to doing the steps and sharing with others. In my opinion, a vast majority of church members could stand to apply these 12 steps. |

Thanks for sharing your story, friend. I think this experience of turning to the Savior and seeking His power (grace) to do for us what we can't do for ourselves is the most important secret we learn in Heart t' Heart. In fact, it may be the best kept secret in the Church. Those of us who have been compelled to be humble because of our weakness are experiencing a marvelous conversion to Christ that all members truly do need.
Keep coming back. This is a good place to be.

| Dear Creating_momentum. I'm so excited for you. If you look at my posting history you will see that I have worked through the steps over a period of about a year and a half. It's not the first time for me, but it came at a time when I was white knuckling it and Using more than occassionally. I have found a greater power in Christ this time around and actually feel recovered! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to reading some of your journey as you post here as you share your experience strength and hope. Keep coming back! CB |

Dear Creating Momentum,
So glad to have you here with us! Colleen B. has been such an amazing example to all of us with her faithful posting here of her scripture-capturing exercises.
That's all these writing "prompts" are meant to be--just 10-15 minute "exercises" in the spiritual life and realm. Just the "power of the little bit" in those consistent daily exercises -- that is where the miracle comes in.
Welcome to HtH online!
